My biggest issue was while I waited I noticed that my particular room was not clean. There was dust on the counters, the trays that the equipment goes on was dirty, there was hair and spots on the floor that looked like blood. I immediately felt uncomfortable and stood up. If this place is supposed to be a clean environment, It was not. I do not feel comfortable allowing them to take my wisdom teeth out if they cannot even keep their rooms sanitary. I will be looking elsewhere for an oral surgeon.
I made the appointment after my dentist told me it was time to get my wisdom teeth out. I was told I would need an initial appointment to discuss exactly what I needed and if I had my dentist send a referral letter and x-rays there would be no charge. Perfect got that done. This the only place that takes my insurance for oral surgery. When I walked in everything seemed normal, like you would expect at a dentist office. But when I was called to the back I was told I needed x rays, I said I just got x rays last week and had them sent, but they told me I still needed them and it was no charge. Fine. Then I explained I was looking to get my wisdom teeth out and the tech then told me it would be a charge to look at my wisdom teeth. I explained that when I made the appointment on the phone I was told that I would not be charged if I had the paperwork from my dentist. So she went to go find out what was going on. 5 minutes later she comes back and takes even more x rays so the doctor wouldn't have to give me an actual exam. Cool, do what you gotta do I guess. The I go to the room and the dentist looks at my teeth anyway. Then after he leaves I wait to get taken back to the front to talk about what my insurance will cover. I waited for 15 minutes in that chair.
Went to get a tooth extracted. Was given a price quote and appointment time. Drive half an hour to get there only to get a quick check, a 1500$ price quote ( after insurance) and asked when would I would like to schedule an appointment. If you schedule an appointment, do the scheduled work! Not a high priced scare tactic! Still have the tooth in my mouth!! Thanks for nothing A$PEN dental!!
