Cons: 1. Window unit AC so the living room is nice but the bedroom is hard to cool. I recommend thermal curtains for the rooms. Those alone save me $10 a month on AC.
3. Very pet friendly
When I did my tour and placed my "holding fee" I was told I'd be getting a special offer for an updated unit at a lower price (still almost 800 dollars for just me, but I was optimistic). I arrived to sign my lease and was told that they would be moving me to a different unit that was less updated. What they didn't tell me was they would be moving me into a unit that had the oldest of all the appliances. I couldn't even find drip pans that fit my stove upon move out because my stove was so old, and my fridge sounded like it was about to take flight. My dishwasher was old and had prongs missing and there was dog food pieces everywhere and I didn't even have a dog. While living there, maintenance caused a HUGE mess when fixing my garbage disposal and I wasn't even able to get all of the mess cleaned thoroughly under my sink. I also had an issue that I was paying so much money for no amenities, like absolutely none. NO laundry (the washer in my building only washed in hot and broke half way through the year), no a/c, pool, workout room. However, when I looked into having a pet, the pet fees were ridiculous. I never had an issue with the leasing office, but I follow the rules and pay my rent on time, so I didn't really give them a reason to be anything but professional. I couldn't hear my neighbors a lot, and appreciated the heat in the winter. I seemed to always have really great hot water, etc. So if you follow the rules, and do what you're supposed to do, it's a quiet place to call home. I was just so frustrated about the initial move in that it made me angry for the rest of the year. However, management changed over the course of my time so the issue was not the current management's fault and I can say whenever I spoke to the office they were great.
Pros: 1. Thick walls so neighbors are rarely heard
4. 5min walking distance from a Starbucks, movie theater, a grocery store (plus an Aldi opening soon), and a YMCA
Moved in with my 92 year old mother in the Spring. The staff is above and beyond what a five star rating could give. Maintenance is there, sometimes within minutes of a call. The office has yet to say 'no' to help I have requested; including going to check on my mother when I was stuck in traffic. If someone is unhappy here; doubt they will be Happy anywhere.
Overall for me the pros outweigh the cons.
5. Staff has been helpful and fast to fix any problems that came up (under 12 hrs from submitting a ticket to having my fridge fixed.)
My family had no complaints at all during all the 3 years we lived there.
I am a medical device consultant in the area on an assignment. Kuder Estates is my home away from home. Apartments very nice well maintained and my neighbors are very nice. Would recommend to anyone.
2. Boiler heated so the electric bill in the winter is around $30
2. No washer/dryer in the apartment (unless you live on the first floor, then you can install one). They do have coin machines on the 1st and 3rd floor. They cost a $1.75 to wash and $1.25 to dry. They dryers time is not changeable so if you have things that will shrink on high heat you will need to run it twice. If you have a lot of laundry I would just go to a laundramat, there are a few good ones in town.
I lived in this apartment complex for close to 3 years, and had to move out recently due to a job change to a different city. The apartment is conveniently located to grocery stores, schools and for other daily needs. Once the Husky trail road construction is completed which is planned to include a side walk and a biking trail, Kuder will be an ideal place to call home. The walking trail in the nearby Harrison school is another place to go to for exercising during summer...
The leasing office staff (Brittany and James) are really very responsive to any concerns. Chad is a great guy who attends to your maintenance needs without any delays....Thank you Kuder
